Knitted by Mrs Elsie Buchan, Fraserburgh, about 1970
Colour: grey
Pattern: all over body pattern; low triangles or heapies, separated by single mock cables. The heapies pattern is centred front and back, and the mock cable the sides.
Welt: 6 cm single rib (knit 1, purl 1)
Gusset: diamond shaped gusset, approximately 7 cm across and 25 cm long, worked in stocking stitch; opens out of mock cable pattern at sides.
Shoulders: ridge and furrow pattern (3 rows stocking stitch, 3 rows reverse stocking stitch) worked as an extension of the front at both sides of the neck, and cast off together with the back shoulder stitches.
Sleeves: plain stocking stitch with 1 purl false seam stitch from gusset to cuff; cuff single rib.
Neck: roll neck approximately 9 cm deep in single rib.
We have another gansey by Mrs Buchan which is almost the same, but with double mock cables, and another with two rows to each step of the triangle
