Donated by: Mrs Stewart; belonged to George McPherson, Calmbay, Cummingston; knitted in the late 1940s using sock wool as this was all that was available due to rationing

Colour: light grey

Pattern: all over body pattern; road to Duffus and mini cables; cables centred at front, back and sides

Welt: 5.5 cm (2.25 inches)

Gusset: no gusset

Shoulders: plain shoulder straps knitted from shoulder edge to neck

Sleeves: 43 cm (17 inches); knitted downwards from the shoulder; decreases continue to end of cuff

Neck: crew neck, approximately 2.5 cm (1 inch), knitted twice that length and sewn down on the inside
